TRANSFORMATIONAL COACHING. UNDENIABLE RESULTS.
My Sound4VO training program is based on decades of training, experience, mentorship and (most importantly) listening. It is important for you to understand that this program does take time, patience and practice. The skills you will use and the tools I will provide must be experienced, often many times over, before they will become recognizably familiar and/or effortless.
Session 1
Introductory Voice Assessment
In our introductory session we will discuss your voice goals and discover specific areas where I hear potential for adjustments and possible improvement. I will listen to your script delivery and assess your current execution of basic voice acting skills. We will also discuss basic equipment you will need to either practice and/or prepare for the training or career goals ahead.
Session 2
In this session I will introduce you to the foundations of script interpretation and discovery. It begins by asking lots of questions about the script, the client or story and context in which the final production will be presented.
Session 3
I will fill your “tool belt” with tools for better script interpretation. Which tools and how many may be determined by the work you’ve been doing on your own. But, each tool will help you to make important changes and help you to discover new and varied ways of being more believable and genuine (therefore more trustworthy) to your listeners.
Session 4
Tools, tools and more tools. Deeper dives into script interpretation as well as discussions focused on physicality, methods for emphasis, and how all the tools form building blocks to help you interpret and effectively communicate any script in any voiceover genre.
Session 5
By now you have received many of the tools you need. In this session, we’ll make sure you are using them effectively and can do so within time constraints in scripts of varying lengths
Session 6
In this session we assess your improvement from the prior sessions and begin to fine-tune issues we’ve identified as well as begin working on any new or additional concerns.
Session 7
Listening. We’ll evaluate some of the homework you’ve been doing. We’ll listen critically, fine-tune your process and your ears.
Session 8
Love it or hate it … you may still have to communicate it. We’ll evaluate scripts and learn how to communicate all of them.
Session 9
Let’s work out! Your scripts or mine. We’ll put your skills to the test.
Session 10
Mock session day! Just as you would go to your booth for work, thats what we’ll do in this mock session.
Session 11
In this session we will evaluate your overall progress, discuss specific concerns and next steps.
Session 12
Review and Follow-up. We will go over everything you’ve learned, discover areas that still need improvement and plan a path forward.
While this is an outline of what you can expect, it is important to understand that everyone’s journey is different and some flexibility in the program should also be expected. We have a lot of material to cover. Including: pitch, pace, tone, melody, volume, intentions, emotions, physicality, attitudes, deliveries, formats/genres, timing, improvisation and so much more! Success is not guaranteed. Your results are ultimately dependent on you.
Sessions are typically one hour. Sessions can be purchased individually at a cost of $185. Purchase the entire voice transformation and voiceover track of 12 classes with advance non-refundable payment of $1,800 and save $420 on the cost of individual sessions. Have an important audition and want some direction or another set of ears? Half hour audition intensives are available at a cost of $80. Discounts offered for students age 16-25. Training in Roger Love's "VQ-Vocal Intelligence" method will require additional program materials at additional cost.
Audio Recording, Editing and Production
This session or sessions will cover audio equipment, recording, editing and introductory audio production including: microphones, preamps, DAW’s, acoustics and more.
